Somewhere on the map there is a spot that means something to you. The town you grew up in. The beach where you proposed. The city you have always wanted to see. Now you can paint it.

Dood Atlas is live: a shared graffiti wall shaped like the world. Anyone can make a small piece of pixel art, choose a place for it on a real world map, and publish it for everyone to see. It is free, it works on your phone, and it is waiting for its first neighbourhoods.

Dood Atlas: a world map covered in colourful pixel art
Dood Atlas at doodlabs.io/atlas: pixel art from the CommUnity, placed on a real world map.

A world made by you.

What is Dood Atlas?

Dood Atlas is a world map where every square of art was placed by someone in the CommUnity. Each artist gets small pixel canvases, from 8 × 8 up to 64 × 64 pixels, and pins them to real places on Earth. Zoom out and you see the whole world filling up with colour. Zoom in and every piece has a title, a story and an owner.

Canvases can sit right next to each other, but they never overlap. The whole square counts, see-through pixels too, so the spot you choose is yours and nobody can paint over it. That makes good locations worth claiming early.

Dood Atlas lives at doodlabs.io/atlas, the Dood Labs games and experiments site.

Who can join (and what it costs)

  • Anyone can browse. No wallet or sign-in is needed to explore the map and the gallery.
  • Creating needs a Xaman sign-in. Your Xaman wallet is your account, so your artwork stays yours.
  • No NFTs or tokens required. You don't need to hold anything to take part.
  • No fees. Publishing doesn't cost anything, and Dood Atlas never asks you to send a payment.
  • 3 canvases per wallet. Edit, move or release them whenever you like.
⚠️ Watch out

Signing in to Dood Atlas is a sign-in request in Xaman, nothing more. Dood Atlas will never ask for your secret numbers or family seed, and it never asks you to sign a payment. If anything claiming to be Dood Atlas does, close it.

How to leave your mark on Dood Atlas

  1. Open the map

Go to doodlabs.io/atlas and look around. Search for a place, or drag and zoom to find your spot.

  2. Sign in with Xaman

Tap Sign in and approve the request in Xaman.

  3. Choose a canvas size

8 × 8 is perfect for a tiny icon. 64 × 64 gives you room for real detail. All sizes are open to everyone.

  4. Make your artwork

Draw it pixel by pixel right on the page, or Import artwork from a PNG, JPG or WebP file (up to 512 KB). Pixel art at the right size keeps its exact colours. You can also make it in Dood-el, save it as a PNG and import it.

  5. Pick your spot

Tap the map where it should go. An outline shows exactly what it will cover, and it snaps neatly to neighbouring art. Use the arrows to fine-tune it one pixel at a time.

  6. Publish

Add a title and a short description if you want, then press Publish. Your art appears on the map for everyone.

💡 Tip

On a phone, the creation panel slides up from the bottom. Tap Create your artwork to open it and Show the map to see the whole world again.

Your canvases: edit, move, release

Published art isn't locked in place. Open any of your pieces on the map to:

  • Edit the pixels, title or description. Earlier versions are kept on record.
  • Move it somewhere else, as long as the new spot is free.
  • Erase the picture but keep the spot, ready for something new.
  • Release the canvas to free the spot for anyone and get the canvas back to use elsewhere.

Everyone shares one map, so keep it something you would be proud to show your neighbours.

Good to know

  • Saved on Dood Atlas. Your artwork is stored by Dood Labs. It is not recorded on the XRP Ledger and it is not an NFT.
  • Its own sign-in for now. Being signed in to XRPL Home doesn't sign you in to Dood Atlas yet, so you sign in once with Xaman on the map.
  • Works everywhere. Desktop, tablet and phone.
🔋 by $DOOD™

Dood Atlas is part of the Dood Labs family: a place for the CommUnity to play, make things and show up for each other. Paint your hometown, start a neighbourhood with friends, or leave a tiny piece of art somewhere nobody would expect it. Then share it with us on X and Discord.

What's next

This is day one, and the map is wide open. We will keep improving Dood Atlas based on what you build and what you tell us, and we will share news in the CommUnity first. If you hit a bug or have an idea, let us know on Discord.

And when you are ready to take your art further, XRPL Home is where artists mint their work on the XRP Ledger and collectors find it.

Key takeaways
