The first full end-to-end test of Physical Art + COA is complete.

This wasn't just a mint, and it wasn't just a sale. It was a complete workflow test — from artwork creation all the way through delivery confirmation and privacy cleanup.

What makes this different

Each physical artwork receives a unique Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and a D.O.O.D. Certificate™ (Digital Origin & Ownership Document), recorded on the XRP Ledger.

Collectors receive:

  • The original physical artwork
  • A digital version of the artwork
  • The Certificate of Authenticity
  • The D.O.O.D. Certificate™ NFT
  • Ownership verification
  • Vault fulfilment tracking

The D.O.O.D. Certificate™ NFT becomes the permanent digital record connected to the physical piece.

The workflow, step by step

  1. Mint Physical Art

Artists mint a piece as Physical Art + COA. During minting the artwork receives a physical artwork record, a digital artwork version, the COA, the D.O.O.D. Certificate™ NFT, collection and taxon assignment, and ownership verification metadata. The artwork stays part of its existing collection while gaining physical fulfilment capabilities.

  2. List for sale

The artist lists using Instant Checkout. The listing clearly identifies it as Physical Art + COA that ships original artwork, so collectors know they're buying a real-world item backed by an authenticated digital record.

  3. Collector purchases

The sale is recorded, the digital artwork and COA NFT transfer to the collector, a physical fulfilment order is created, and both parties gain access to Physical Art & COA inside Vault. Ownership is established immediately while fulfilment begins.

  4. Buyer submits shipping information

Inside Vault → Physical Art & COA → My Physical Orders. The address is never written to the blockchain and is shared only for fulfilment.

  5. Seller fulfils the order

Inside Vault → Physical Art & COA → My Physical Sales the seller can view the shipping address, mark Preparing, add carrier and tracking, then mark Shipped and Delivered. All fulfilment activity is recorded in Vault.

  6. Buyer tracks the shipment

Status flows: Address Needed → Address Submitted → Preparing Shipment → Shipped → Delivered → Received Confirmed.

  7. Buyer confirms delivery

When the artwork arrives the buyer clicks Confirm Received. The order completes. The COA, the NFT, ownership verification and the fulfilment record all remain.

  8. Privacy cleanup

After delivery confirmation, shipping addresses are removed and address information redacted. Tracking history, COA records and ownership records remain.

🔒 On privacy

Collectors keep their privacy after the transaction completes. The address exists only as long as it's needed to ship the piece.

Verify the COA any time

Inside Vault → Physical Art & COA → Verify COA, verification can be performed using a Certificate ID, an NFT Token ID, or the dedicated Verify page. It confirms collection, issuer, ownership, token ID and XRP Ledger authenticity.

Why this matters

For years artists have had to manage physical sales, shipping, tracking, ownership records and authenticity across multiple platforms. This brings the whole process under one roof.

Physical and digital ownership should work together.

Artists can now mint, sell, authenticate, fulfil, track and verify physical artwork through a single workflow — tested end to end: Mint → Sale → Digital Delivery → COA Transfer → Shipping → Tracking → Delivery → Confirmation → Privacy Cleanup.

For the deeper lifecycle reference, see Physical Art + COA: the full lifecycle and Reveal Mint™ and the Living COA™ lifecycle.

Key takeaways

  • Each physical artwork gets a Certificate of Authenticity and a D.O.O.D. Certificate™ recorded on the XRP Ledger.
  • Ownership transfers immediately on purchase while physical fulfilment begins separately.
  • Shipping addresses are never written to the blockchain and are shared only for fulfilment.
  • After delivery confirmation, addresses are redacted while COA and ownership records remain.
  • COA authenticity can be verified any time by Certificate ID or NFT Token ID.
